Car history: |
1970 Corvette coupe. 4 SPEED. MATCHING NUMBERS. 61,600 actual miles. Marlboro maroon, brown vinyl interior, am/fm radio, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, rear window defroster. Engine # v0603ctd. Rear axle # cam 6.6. Trans # POE 18A. KEY # 2E59-2968. DATE PRODUCED 6-12-70. This is a non restored Corvette that has been kept as pristine and close to original as possible. COMPLETE DOCUMENTATION SINCE ORIGINAL OWNER... Owners manual, protectoplate, wheel trim ring instruction sheet, original key envelope, trade in documentation (67 Ford Galaxie 500), Corvette order form, Car invoice (dealership), radio operating instructions manual, Corvette consumer information brochure, warranty brochure. Also included in the documentation is a pocket notebook recording miles per gallon calculations and odometer reading, at every gas fill up from 1,504 miles through 49,834 miles as well as any work the owner did in that period of time. I also have paperwork from work done on the car from all previous owners as well as my own paperwork for the repairs I have made. NCRS judged the car in 2002 and gave it a "Second Flight" rating. This Corvette was repainted in 1985 in it's original Marlboro Maroon color. Paint looks amazing for being 23 years old. I will list the very minor issues. There is no orange peel in the paint and shows well. A few minor chips here and there. There is a faint 2"x1/2" "spider web" in the passenger door. A 1.5" crack at the edge of the right rear buttress, a 3/4" x 1/4" spot at the roofs edge near the t-top that has been touched up with paint. A 1/8" scratch in the same area and a very thin 2" scratch near that that has been touched up. All other areas on the bodywork are great. The frame is in great original shape with no rust issues, just minor rust "freckles" here and there. Absolutely no flakes or chunks anywhere on the frame or elsewhere on the car for that matter. The chrome is in excellent original condition. No rust, no flaking, just very minor hazing. The interior is in great original condition. Carpet is good with no stains or tears. There is a 1.5" rip in the passenger seat and a 8" split in the seam in the drivers seat. The back edge of the drivers seat also has a 8" wear line where the color has faded a bit. Radio is no longer working. Clock is no longer working. This Corvette starts right up and runs and drives very nice. A great daily driver. Certainly not a trailer queen but very nice to look at and drive. First owner had the car from 1970-1984. Second owner from 84-89. Third owner from 89-91. Fourth owner from 91-2001. I am the fifth owner of this car. In the seven years I have cared for this car, I put 4,600 miles on it's odometer. My major repairs have been 4 new calipers, new gas tank, (I still have the old one with the tank sticker). Rebuilt steering box, new radiator, new mufflers, new battery, rear bearings, and new tires. (I still have the reproduction "Wide Ovals" if you like the vintage look and ride). |
